In preparation for resurfacing of the Middle Neck Road by Nassau County, and in collaboration with the County's Department of Public Work, an improved and beautified median is planned for Middle Neck Road. In order to clear the median for such improvement, railroad ties on Middle Neck Road in the Village will be replaced with County approved median. 

Demolition of median will begin on Wednesday 10/6/21, and is expected to be completed by Friday 10/8/21. During this time, sections of Middle Neck Road will be temporary closed to traffic. Please use caution while driving in the area. 

The existing medians were deemed not to be appropriate by Nassau County for Middle Neck Road due to the large trees and railroad ties in the medians. With the assistance of a landscape architect the Village will design and install new plantings in the spring of 2022 that are both beautiful and durable in addition to being DOT compliant.
